Our Story

In the beginning

Elna Dog Boarding Kennels was established in 1989 by Elwyn and Naomi Williams near the village of Penygroes in Gwynedd, North Wales.

During the last 30 years the kennels has been a successful, welcoming and loving family run business.

The kennels are now in the care of Richard and Jo Taylor (That's us!) since early 2020.

We moved to North Wales in 2019 from Lancashire, England, and we absolutely love our new surroundings in such a lovely part of the world. We are currently the proud owners of four dogs, two horses, five cats and one hen, so you can be assured that we fully understand how important it is to find the right high quality animal care establishment.

If you couldn't tell already; We are very passionate about animals and their welfare! - We consider our animals as part of the family, and we appreciate how stressful leaving your dogs in a different environment can be.

At Elna, you can rest assured that your dogs stay with us will be a happy and safe one.

We are based on a farm, conveniently located just outside Penygroes. Just a few minutes drive from the main Caernarfon to Porthmadog road.
